AgVet Chemical Users Course

The Agricultural Chemical Skill Set (previously known as the Farm or Ag/Vet Chemical Users Course) provides the knowledge and skills required to safely select, prepare, apply, transport and store chemicals. Upon successful completion of this course the ACUP (Agricultural Users Permit) can be applied for through AgVic.

The Hub for Learning (RTO No: 45630) is the awarding RTO for this qualification.

Nationally recognised training and assessment is delivered by EcoSkills Training on behalf of The Hub for Learning (RTO 45630). AQF certification documentation is issued by The Hub for Learning.

  • Characteristics and properties of chemicals
  • Interpreting chemical labels & SDS
  • Chemical legislation and record keeping
  • Chemical storage & transport
  • Preparing & mixing chemicals
  • Safe selection and application of chemicals
  • Mimising off target damage
  • Preparing a herbicide application plan

The Agricultural Chemical Skill Set is required to obtain an agricultural chemical user permit (ACUP) and a preferred qualification for many employers in the conservation, horticulture and land management industries.

AHCCHM304 Transport and store chemicals

AHCCHM307 Prepare and apply chemicals to control pests, weeds and diseases

 

This course is run over two days, Tuesday and Wednesday
Refresher Course is only one day in duration.
